Exhibit 7- Text, Camera Raw, Masks
Octobers!
I think that this October has been one of the most beautiful on record. So, when I saw this photo my aunt took, I knew I wanted to use it with this saying. I started out with this photo, and ended with these two images. I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so here are both of them. I wanted the trees to pop out so I changed the saturation and luminosity of the colors individually. Even though the picture had all the fall leaves, the sky and the mountain added a lot of cool, so I warmed the picture. By using the white text and having it cover the entire image it makes it stand out so that it is the main focus. The orange text is above in the sky so it isn't the main focus, and the orange color makes it blend with the rest of the picture a little more. This make the focus be more on the picture than the saying. I like both looks, it just depends on what you think the focus should be. I adjusted the coloring a little bit on the two different photos depending on what color of font I was using.

Camera Raw Settings Used:
- I adjusted the shadows and the blacks and whites to lighten the picture up a bit.
- I turned the clarity down a little bit
- I turned the saturation up to give it a more vibrant color
- I adjusted the luminosity and saturation of each color individually to give it the color that I wanted and to really make the colors in the trees stand out, and to brighten the sky
Design Elements in Photoshop:
- I cropped the image to a perfect square. I wanted part of the road in it, but mostly wanted to focus on the vibrant leaves.
- The sky wasn’t as blue as I wanted in the section that I cropped it down to, so I copied the bluer part of the sky and replaced the sky that was there.
- I added different masks to apply curves, brightness and adjust the hue and saturation.
- Added a color overlay to give the entire image a warmer tone.
