Exhibit 24 - Graduation Announcement
My final portfolio piece for the semester is my graduation announcement. I thought it was a fitting way to close this portion of my portfolio. My husband took some graduation pictures of me and I loved what I have been able to create with them.
Design Thought: Interestingly enough, this isn't my favorite picture out of all that were taken. I did, however, love it for my announcement for a few reasons. I like the way my head is turned around, almost to say good-bye, but my body is starting to go the other direction. I like the way the sidewalk leads you down the path, like it is taking me to new beginnings. It also provided a good amount of space on the side to be able to put text.

This has been a great journey, and I've loved it, but I wanted to show that journey is leading me to new and exciting adventures that await!

Photoshop skills/tools used:
- I first brought this picture into camera raw and adjusted the light and coloring of the photo.
- I opened it up in Photoshop and cropped and framed the picture where I wanted.
- I used the spot healing brush to take out some boxes on the grass and to fill in some branches on the trees so the text could show better.
- My tassel wasn't showing the 18, so I took the 18 from another photo and placed on this one.
- I used the clone stamp to fill in some blank spots on my tassel.
Text
- I spent a lot of time on the text. I first went and found a font that like for my name. The font is called "Laughing and Smiling" and I font it at https://www.wfonts.com/search?kwd=laughing+and+smiling. The other font is called "no-name-37" and it is found at https://www.wfonts.com/font/no-name-37
- I played around with many different wording options, and many different layout options. I left it and come back to it several times.
- I added lines to help separate the text.
- At the very end I added the Utah State University seal.
- I played around with the placement, higher, lower, centered and finally settled on this.
This has been a great journey, and I've loved it, but I wanted to show that journey is leading me to new and exciting adventures that await!
